Shortcrust Pastry For Tarts And Quiches

If you, like me, enjoy tarts and quiches, you should always have prepared shortcrust pastry in your fridge.

This is the recipe I always use, and it is foolproof. Just make sure you use fresh ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 250gr flour
  • 125 gr butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 10 gr sugar if you are going for the sweet version
  • 2 tbsp chilled water

Instructions:

Mix all the ingredients by hand, or use a food processor if you have one.

Form a firm flat disc, wrap it in a cling film, and rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

You can have it in your fridge for up to two days or up to one month in the freezer.
