Moules Mariniere
France is my family’s favorite destination. We love the seaside, mountains, art, and wines, and especially we love French food.
On these chilly November days, I wanted to bring them to sunny France & I prepared this traditional meal.
I got 2 kgs of fresh mussels and cooked them in a cast iron pot.
Ingredients:
Ingredientsfor 4/5 people:
- 2 kgs fresh mussels
- 400ml dry white wine
- 40 gr butter
- 1 onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic crushed
- parsley
- thyme
- seasoning
Instructions:
Mix the onion, garlic & parsley in a food processor until they are finely chopped.
Melt the butter at a low temperature and add the mixture to the pot.
Add the mussels & thyme and stir until they are entirely covered with the chopped mixture; add the wine, and increase the maximum heat.
Cover and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
If you want the traditional French experience, serve with fries.
